Having completed the main story and much of the postgame adventure, I wish I’d known the answers to a number of questions before I started: What skills are worth upgrading early on? Should you spend hacksilver on buying new armor or upgrading old armor? What’s the difference between the horizontal and vertical axe throws? God of War is one of the year’s best games, but similarly to last year’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it can be surprisingly opaque.
